Village Service Trust

Village Service Trust working in 17 years to support marginalised community in rural and urban areas in Tamil Nadu. Village Service Trust aims to reduce poverty by enabling the poor household to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities resulting in sustainable and diversified livelihood options for the poor. The objective of the Village Service Trust seeks to achieve its objective through investing in core components viz.

Objectives

Social Mobilization

  • SHG Formation and support
  • Special Group formation with differently abled and vulnerable people
  • Support to Street Vendors in Urban and rural areas

  • Financial Support to entrepreneurs to start the activities via DIC schemes

Financial Inclusion

  • create awareness about the Financial literacy among the poor HHs
  • Support to opening the SB account to near by Banks
  • All state and central sponsored insurance schemes to be tapped via bank account
  • Increase the Credit worthiness root through the periodical financial management Training among the people

Sustainable livelihoods support to Marginalised People

  • Formation of farmer Groups and providing the Technical handholding support

Substantial public investments are being made for strengthening of economy and livelihood base of the poor, especially the marginalised people . To effectively address the issue of poverty alleviation, there is a need to optimise efforts through inter-sectoral approaches. Vaillage Service Trust convergence of different programmes like; DIC,NABARD, MSME, KVIC, Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, THADCO,TAMCO,TABCEDCO, TRIFED,TNSRLM, TNRTP, NRETP, TNULM, PTSLP , NHFDC,National ,Horticulture Mission, Fisheries, Forest and various agricultural development programmes at state level.This convergence will bring in synergies between different programmes/schemes in terms of planning, process and implementation. This will also facilitate sustainable development for poor people.
